Company History

We opened our Edmonton store on May 24, 2025, and are planning to add a selection of Electric Fireplaces as the colder season approaches.

Barbecues Galore started out as a wholesale company in Calgary, Alberta called Tradex Supply which still exists today. Tradex distributed barbecues to retailers across Canada, and soon became interested in the retail business themselves. Tradex started operating a retail store under the name Barbecues Galore in 1979. From our humble beginnings in the wild west of Calgary to currently operating six stores across Canada with two in Calgary, one in Edmonton, and one each in Burlington, Oakville, and Etobicoke (Toronto), Ontario; we have been selling and installing fireplaces and barbecues from top quality brands such as Valor, Amantii, Dimplex, Napoleon, Weber, Broil King, DCS, and Hestan to list just a few.

Our fireplace side has been alive and thriving for well over 60 years. We took over Woods Fireplaces, which was established in 1938, and to this day we provide the best service and expertise found in the Canadian fireplace industry. Barbecues Galore is our name, but fireplaces are a big half of our business. Each of our locations has tons of installed and working fireplaces to let you see and feel each one, not just look at it in a catalogue. We offer the largest fireplace showrooms across Canada and each of our showrooms backs it up.
