The Stove Shoppe's story starts in 1969 alongside Fences Unlimited, the sister business it's shared a roof with ever since, proof that a company built on helping people fence in their yards and heat their homes has always been about making a house feel more livable, inside and out. The stove side found its own storefront by the early 1970s on Route 28 in Salem, New Hampshire, and spent the next couple of decades outgrowing one Salem location after another before settling into its current home on Indian Rock Road in Windham in 1997. Growth since then has come at its own pace rather than in a rush: the Windham showroom expanded and a second location opened in Epping in 2006, a third followed in Manchester in 2014, and a fourth just opened in Middleton, Massachusetts this year. It's the kind of growth that happens when people keep coming back, not when a business chases size for its own sake.
