What began in 1998 as a father-and-son fireplace and stone shop in Alexandria has grown into one of Central Minnesota’s largest hearth and masonry showrooms, staffed by people who’ve spent careers explaining the difference between a good fireplace and the right one for your home. Company History

Long before there was a showroom, there was Wayne Jenzen. A second-generation mason whose father ran a masonry and construction company, until a shoulder injury pushed Wayne toward selling brick and stone instead of laying it. In 1998, when a local fireplace shop shut its doors, Alexandria contractors turned to Wayne for a dependable source, and Alex Brick & Stone was born, with wife Nancy at his side. Son Neil joined full-time in 2002, took the reins in 2014, and welcomed masonry and landscape expert Joel Peterson as a partner in 2015. Locations followed in Willmar and Nisswa, and in 2023 all three united under one name: Nordic, marking 25 years of building timeless traditions.

More than 40 fully functioning fireplace units alongside sweeping displays of natural stone, brick, pavers, and retaining wall options. It's designed so you can actually picture the finished project before committing to it, whether that's a living room hearth or a backyard patio.
