It was three generations of Minnesota masons finally bringing their showroom to cabin country. Perched near the corner of Highway 371 and Hazelwood Drive, this newest Nordic location carries the same deep bench of wood, gas, electric and pellet fireplaces as its sister stores, plus a lake-country-ready lineup of natural stone, brick and outdoor living pieces built for docks, decks and fire pits. Company History

The Nordic story starts with Wayne Jenzen, a second-generation mason whose own father ran a masonry and construction business, until a shoulder injury steered Wayne toward selling brick and stone instead of laying it himself. When a local fireplace shop in Alexandria closed in 1998, contractors turned to Wayne, and Alex Brick & Stone was born alongside his wife Nancy. Son Neil joined in 2002 and took over in 2014, partnering with masonry and landscape expert Joel Peterson in 2015. A Willmar location came next, and in 2021 the family opened its newest showroom in Nisswa, deep in Minnesota's lake country. In 2023, all three stores united under one name, Nordic, marking 25 years in business.

Tucked just off Highway 371 at the Hazelwood Drive corner, the Nisswa showroom is Nordic's newest outpost. Built for a crowd that's shopping for a cabin as often as a house. Inside, you'll find working fireplace displays spanning wood, gas, electric and pellet models, plus a curated wall of natural and manufactured stone samples chosen with lake homes and four-season porches in mind. Outdoors, the showroom grounds double as a working display for fire pits, patio furniture and grills, so you can see how a piece actually looks before it goes in your yard. Staff know the Brainerd Lakes building codes and vacation-home quirks inside and out. Come by and let them walk you through it.
