Company History

Starting as the retail showroom for Eastern Jungle Gym, a family business built on the idea of manufacturing high-quality cedar swing sets. That same care has carried the company through more than 30 years of growth. Along the way, the Mahopac store became the flagship, now serving as the headquarters for the company's Tri-State locations and holding one of the largest indoor/outdoor displays of backyard products in the region. The catalog has grown right along with it, expanding from swing sets into sheds, pools, patios, grills, wood stoves, and fireplace inserts, all sold by the same team.

The Mahopac showroom is the flagship of the Best in Backyards family, and the site doesn't undersell it: one of the largest indoor/outdoor displays of backyard products anywhere in the Tri-State. Kids beeline for the swing sets and playhouses while the design team walks parents through sheds, pergolas, pools, hot tubs, and grills set up the way they'd actually look at home. Bring your measurements and a rough idea of what you're after, and the in-store team maps out styles, materials, and budget on the spot. Designers are available to visit larger properties and draw up a plan before anything gets built.
