Hearth & Home USA / Utica, NY

Hearth & Homes, USA opened its doors in 2005 under owner Patrick Hemming, and more than twenty years later Pat is still running the show and still the name customers mention most, often for how carefully he measures a custom fireplace door or walks someone through the difference between two inserts. Over the years the business has grown into a true four-season operation, pairing stoves, inserts and fireplaces with Nordic hot tubs, above-ground pools and pool and spa care. Today the River Road store in Utica serves homeowners across Oneida, Herkimer, Madison and Otsego counties, with customers regularly thanking Pat, his sales team and his install crew by name.

The River Road showroom is where Central New York's seasons meet under one roof. Heating options and pool and hot tub choices share the floor, so you can weigh a pellet stove against a gas insert, then turn around and start dreaming about summer nights in a Nordic tub. Customers describe walking in and being greeted right away by a team that's "welcoming, gracious and extremely informative," which is exactly what you want when you're making a decision you'll live with for years. Bring a water sample along, too, because testing is free.

The hearth side covers every way to heat a Central New York home: wood and pellet stoves, gas and wood fireplace inserts, gas fireplaces, electric fireplaces and gas log sets, from Napoleon, Regency, Kozy Heat, Hampton and Peterson. Outside, it's all about relaxing. Hearth & Homes is the Mohawk Valley's authorized Nordic Hot Tubs dealer, carrying USA-made tubs from cozy two-seaters to eight-person party spas, plus above-ground pools in a range of sizes and the chemicals to keep them clear. The team steers customers away from cheap tubs and refurbished units sold as new, and the whole lineup is chosen for efficiency, durability and real value.
