Company History

Tri-County Hearth & Patio opened its doors in Waldorf in 1978 as a small hearth shop with one goal: keeping Southern Maryland families warm through the winter. Nearly 50 years later, the family-run business continues that tradition under the name Costello's Hearth & Patio. Today, it features a 20,000-square-foot showroom, the largest of its kind in the region. It remains part of the Costello's family of hearth, spa, and outdoor living businesses.

Step into the 20,000-square-foot showroom on Old Washington Road and it's easy to lose an afternoon in there. Fireplace after fireplace glowing in full room vignettes, wood and pellet stoves fired up so you can feel the heat before you buy, and an outdoor living section spilling over with grills, firepits, and complete patio sets arranged like real backyards. It's billed as the largest hearth and patio showroom in Southern Maryland, and once you're walking the floor, you believe it. A virtual showroom tour is available on their website for anyone who wants a preview before making the drive, though this is really a place meant to be experienced in person.
