For fifteen years, this Willmar showroom had its own name, Lake Country Fireplace & Exteriors, before it ever wore the Nordic label, and locals in Kandiyohi County still know it by reputation. Opened in 2008 as the second of what became three family stores, the Willmar showroom carries the same wood, gas, electric and pellet fireplace lineup as its sister stores, alongside a full yard of brick, natural stone and landscape materials for west central Minnesota’s lake homes and farm properties alike. Company History

The Nordic name may be new, but the family behind it isn't. Wayne Jenzen, a second-generation mason, opened Alex Brick & Stone in Alexandria in 1998. As the business grew, son Neil joined in 2002 and took over daily operations in 2014, bringing on masonry and landscape expert Joel Peterson as a partner the following year. In 2008, the family expanded south to Willmar, opening what was then called Lake Country Fireplace & Exteriors to serve the Kandiyohi County region. A third store followed in Nisswa, and in 2023 all three locations were unified under one name, Nordic. Celebrating 25 years of the family business.

Willmar's showroom sits on 25th Street SE, off Highway 71, carrying the same hands-on, walk-the-floor approach that's defined this family business since 1998. Working displays of wood, gas, electric, and pellet fireplaces let you see real flames before you buy. Outside, a yard filled with natural stone, brick, pavers, and retaining wall samples helps homeowners and farm families plan patios and outdoor kitchens using real materials instead of relying on a catalog page.
