Company History

Alber’s Fireplaces was founded in 1974 after the oil embargo sent energy prices soaring and led to a huge demand in wood stoves. The basic premise was that quality products and superior service combine for the best value to the customers and it will provide for a small family business. Soon we added a shop to manufacture our own custom fireplace door designs that led to all kind of custom work and growth opportunities. Soon enough, Alber’s Fireplaces became synonymous for quality fireplace solutions in Somerset County and beyond. Although the blacksmith shop was closed in the early 90’s, we are still a family owned & operated business and we still depend on every customers support and satisfaction.

We have since moved to a new, 8,000 sq. ft. modern showroom in Green Brook, NJ where we can offer over 50 fully functional displays and design vignettes to our customer. We now offer the largest selection of wood, gas & electric hearth appliances, custom facings and a large selection of high-quality outdoor kitchens and appliances. Whether you are looking for a gas grill, infrared patio heater, gas lamp or our unique awning products, our family & staff are happy to work with you and continue that long legacy of dedication and service.

Our installation and service partners have long experience in the hearth industry, have been thoroughly vetted by Alber’s and have a professional staff. We stand behind these partners and recommend them to you as if they were our own employees. Unlike other hearth shop’s where you have to use their staff for your installation or service, we have a choice of service partners that we match with your particular need for the best outcome. We also have more resources to fall back on especially during our “busy season”. While other hearth shops have a limited installation crew and long wait times, we have several partners with more capacity that can keep lead times to a minimum.

Using the Alber’s recommended service providers will guarantee you have a seamless project experience. Our sales sonsultants work with you to find the right product and prepare for the handoff to the installation team. Our installation partners have the experience and factory training to install your new fireplace or stove safely, professionally and expeditiously. With a certified Start-up from our team you can rest assured that your new fireplace operates properly, safely and at it’s peak performance.
