How do I remove the ashes from my pellet stove?

Your pellet appliance comes equipped with an ash drawer or an ash tray.  Simply pull it forward, remove it and empty the ashes.  Be careful and remember that the ash is “powdery” fine and can be easily blown around the room.  It’s always a good idea to empty the ashes into an ash bucket with a tight fitting lid.  Any smoldering pellets will be snuffed out and the lid provides protection from fine dust being blown around.  If you want to vacuum the ash out of the corners of the firebox and other hard to clean spaces, buy an ash vacuum cleaner.  These are designed to handle hot pellets and come equipped with a filter to reduce the fine fly ash that can get airborne.

Have been pushed the burn crate to the ash plate. I use wire from clothe wires, sliding wire from the corner of the door on the top corners to reach the ash to the openings. Is there a better method to slide the ash? Thank you.
